Strikes disrupt travel

Update - Train strike planned 5th December

SNCF has announced a strike which will impact certain train services starting from the 5th December resulting in either partial or total cancellation.

If you are travelling on this date you can use the following link to check if your train service is impacted or not:

SNCF train status: Real-time train and route information.

If you are already in France, you can go directly to a railway station speak to a local railway official who will be able to assist with:

• Providing an update on the status of your train

• Providing alternate transportation options that will be covered by your existing train ticket (no extra costs)

• Changing the date or time of travel using their existing train

• Endorsing your ticket as ‘unused’ if it will not be used for transportation provided by the railroad

Due to protests currently taking place around France, transport strikes may occur at very short notice. These strikes have the potential to severely impact the French rail system, including SNCF trains and international routes.

As soon as we become aware of any upcoming strikes, all confirmed bookings through Rome2rio will receive a notification by email or SMS advising of potential delays and cancellations to your services. Unfortunately, since the strikes are often last minute, we don’t always know when and where they’re going to take place. If you are concerned about potential delays or cancellations, you can use the following links to see if your route will be affected.

Rome2rio customers who were not able to use their train tickets due to a cancelled service can contact us here to apply for a refund.
